WELCOME TO SHEPPERTON MARINA

BERTH HOLDERS PARTY

Shepperton Marina recently held its annual berth holders' - in fact it is was the 32nd year on the trot that Shepperton Marina has laid on a party for its mooers to say thank you for their custom throughtout the year and, in many cases, over a number of years.

In the last few years the weather gods have been unkind to us and it has tipped down with rain.  Not so this year; the sun really did shine on us all, with a gathering of over 150 moorers and staff, everyone could enjoy the beautiful weather while sitting next to our stunning South Lake, cold beer/glass of wine in hand, as they listened to the excellent band (All that Jazz) playing in the marquee.

Shepperton Marina has a proud tradition of supporting the RNLI via proceeds from the annual raffle as well as the collection boxes in the marina office.  This year we invited the RNLI to join the party and they arrived in force with a multitude of items to sell and, of course loaded with plenty of safety information.  We were also treated to a wonderful display of hand made models of lifeboats through the ages. These boats were all skilfully built - by hand, not from kits - by RNLI volunteer Mr George Marsh.

As always, the hightlight of the afternoon (after the free beer and food of course) was the now famous raffle. Once again we had a large array of prizes donated from various sources - local businesses who support our moorers' discount scheme as well as tenants of Shepperton Marina to name a few.  We are very grateful to them all for their generosity.  Judging by the happy faces of the lucky winners they were very pleased with their prizes.

Once again Shepperton Marina donated all the proceeds from the raffle (just under £450) to the RNLI.

All in all, a truly wonderful afternoon was had by all in the late summer sunshine.
