WELCOME TO SHEPPERTON MARINA

Bringing everyone at Shepperton Marina together via the internet

SAFETY DAY

STAY SAFE

OPEN DAY

Saturday 12 September 2009

13:00 until 16:00 at Shepperton Marina

We all love being out on the water and enjoying our boats – be it on the river or just sitting in the marina having a cup of tea in peace and quiet.

However, boating has its dangers as well as its pleasures.

The danger from fire and carbon monoxide poisoning (to name just two) are real and we need to make sure that we do not put ourselves or others at risk.  In order to assist you regarding boat safety we have arranged for the Surrey Fire and Rescue Service to visit Shepperton Marina and discuss any concerns you may have, answer your questions and offer practical advice.

It is not only fire that causes loss of boats and belongings; it is also theft from boats that account for losses. Thankfully, Shepperton Marina has a good record on crime and we have a very proactive workforce who keeps a close eye on the boats – but we cannot be everywhere at once.

So we are setting up Shepperton Marina Watch which will encourage you, the boat owners, to be more aware of your boat’s security when you are on board, either in the marina or out and about.

To help you with boat security and awareness we have invited Surrey Police to come down to the marina and discuss all crime related matters.

These services are attending the marina to help you stay safe while you enjoy your boat – please come along and make full use of this opportunity.
